Bodacious Bijous is a handmade jewelry business that specializes in custom requests. What does Bodacious Bijous mean, you ask? Literally translated, it is ‘attractive jewelry.' My hope is that wearing my jewelry will make you feel Bodacious.
I love creating jewelry in all shapes and sizes, using a variety of materials. Much like clothing, my jewelry is a form of expression - a way to show off your personality or mood each day. It is a pleasure to create pieces that make my customers feel and look good.
My small e-commerce business originated in the Bronx, New York in 2019. Creating handmade jewelry began as a hobby, inspired by my artistic daughter when I was looking for an outlet after a car accident. My creative pastime quickly turned into a business when inspiration struck and I decided I wanted to bring fun, flirty and colorful jewelry back, with a twist!
When I began creating jewelry, I was inspired by the fun costume jewelry I accessorized with in the 80s and 90s. Unfortunately, I became allergic to certain materials, and had to give up these bold statement pieces. After only wearing Gold or Sterling Silver jewelry for many years, it was empowering to realize that I could make my own jewelry to match any outfit, minus the allergic reactions.
That's why it's important to me that all Bodacious Bijous customers feel stylish and safe. When using metals, I do my best to use hypoallergenic materials. If you have a sensitivity to a specific metal or material, let me know, and we'll work together to make the right piece for you!
