FFKR Architects is a full-service architectural and interior design firm, serving the western United States since 1976. Our main office is located in the historic Bogue Building in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, with a satellite office in Scottsdale, Arizona. FFKR is led by 18 principal architects who share responsibility for the vision and operation of the firm. We currently have a staff of 110 architects, designers, and support staff, who also share the vision, and are dedicated to the success of each project. FFKR's practice encompasses a broad range of building types and professional services. Distinct studios within the firm provide focus and leadership for each area of expertise.

FFKR attracts the finest talent and invests in the resources and environment necessary to foster their personal and professional growth; which ensures we provide the best possible service to our clients. The firm's dedication to high-quality, environmentally responsible architecture is practiced with careful detailing and sensitivity to the context of each project.

We believe every project - regardless of size or budget - has the potential to inspire, engage and motivate its users. We recognize that each project embodies the dreams and aspirations of the client, and we view the responsibility of design team leadership as a privilege. Our design process is focused on collaboration with the client, as well as with our colleagues and the builders. We believe great projects are the result of great clients, and collaboration leads to new ideas and new thinking, which are essential to achieving outstanding results. While the quality of our work has been recognized with more than 200 design awards, our success is most accurately reflected by the fact that the majority of our work is performed for repeat clients. These recurring commissions reflect our clients' satisfaction and trust.

We are committed to being leaders in every aspect of our profession, equipping ourselves with the expertise necessary to ensure each project reaches its full potential of design excellence, sustainability, and construction quality. Our success is measured in terms of the satisfaction of our clients, personal fulfillment with our work, and the lasting professional and personal relationships we establish.

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION

This principle is associated with modern architecture and industrial design. By definition it suggests that the shape of a building or project should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose. In the context of design professions, form follow function seems like good sense, but on closer examination it becomes problematic and open to interpretation. Linking the relationship between the form of an object and its intended purpose is a good idea for designers and architects, but is not always by itself a complete design solution. Defining the precise meaning(s) of the phrase "form follows function" opens a discussion of design integrity that remains an important, lively debate.
