Governors Avenue Animal Hospital (GAAH)
Governors Avenue Animal Hospital (GAAH) began seeing animals in the 1950's. The founder of the hospital was Dr. Harold Mersky. Dr. Mersky ran the hospital as a country mixed animal practice. Stories abound of him seeing all types of farm animals when Dover was more of an agrarian town. Dr. Mersky retired in 1986 when Dr. Jan Sosnowski purchased the hospital. Dr. Sosnowski renovated the hospital to a larger floor plan and business design. The hospital is currently comprised of 2 divisions. Governor's Avenue Animal Hospital cares for our small animal friends, while Delmarva Equine Clinic caters to the local horse population. Dr. Foor and Dr. Orth both became partners in 2004. Dr. Egli became a partner in 2008. Dr. Fabryka joined the practice as an associate in 2012. The practice has continued its growth through the years and is currently finishing the 2012 major renovation.

The doctor's and staff at Governor's Avenue Animal Hospital have an exceptional reputation for serving our clients and their pets. We endeavor to provide outstanding client service through friendliness, education and accessibility to our hospital and staff. We strive to provide a healing environment where we can deliver top quality medicine for clients who trust us to deliver the best possible care for their pets. Our proactive focus is on teaching clients how to maintain wellness and prevent disease as a better alternative to treating disease after it occurs. We strongly believe in the value of education for our hospital team and provide access to the best seminars in the country so that they may, in turn, deliver the best care to the pet and help each client understand all aspects of health and preventative care, emphasizing the course of treatment which will provide the highest possible quality of life. We vow to treat each and every animal with kindness and respect from birth to its final hours recognizing that a client's animal is most often a beloved extension of their family and deserving the best we have to offer. We take great pride in helping all our patients live longer, healthier, happy lives.
