Hi-Way Muffler is located in the community of Shively, just off Exit 5 of the Watterson Expressway. Our company has been in business for over 30 years. We are a family-owned company, founded by Joe Thompson, and now owned by his daughter Susan. "Hi-Way Joe," as he was called, believed that giving quality, friendly service at a reasonable price was the best way to earn customer confidence and repeat business. Since most of our customers do our advertising for us, we have a large customer base to show for it. We feel that replacing only what is needed at the time you visit, is a great way to save you money, and, especially during times of economic difficulty, when you do have a need for exhaust repairs again, you faithfully return for new exhaust products. We have been in business since the early 1980s and have kept in place all of the standards and beliefs that the founder, Mr. Joe Thompson, left us with. But I believe our General Manager, Mr. Doug Barnes, has taken what he learned to a new level of service and satisfaction. Mr. Barnes has been in the exhaust business all of his working life, and there is no one else who can match his knowledge and expertise. He has been with the company since 1988, and even though the demands of running a business can be trying, he is also a very good family man. Mr. Barnes is the most honest and friendly person to meet, and he has an uncanny ability to remember names and faces. Ask anyone who hasn't visited us for a few years!
Because of Doug Barnes, this company has an even better reputation than it has ever had in the past. We have an excellent "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, although we are not a member.
