Congress passed a law to avoid the "fiscal cliff." It was passed late on New Years Day so we haven't been able to read up on it completely. We will be looking up all the details and keep you posted as soon as we can.
We do know that the temporary 2% payroll tax credit did expire. The FICA tax to be withheld from each employee's paycheck has gone back to it's original amount of 7.65% from 5.65%. Broken down, that is Social Security at 6.2% and Medicare at 1.45%.
