At Lake Cable Animal Hospital, we believe in treating your pet as a member of our family and providing the best of care.

Dr. Heidi Watters has dedicated a great deal of her life to helping and caring for animals. As far back as middle school, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. During her high school and college years at Walsh College, she worked for a variety of veterinarians and learned a great deal about pet care. After graduating from OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, Dr. Watters worked for a few veterinarians in Canton. In 1995, she purchased Lake Cable Animal Hospital from Dr. Lowell Lambert. She is a member of the AVMA, Academy of Veterinary Medicine of Stark County, OVMA, American Association of Feline Practitioners, the Stark County Humane Society and the Secretary / Veterinarian for the Canines Helping Independent People (CHIP) Program.

Dr. Watters, her husband Kevin and their two children, Emily and Michael, currently live in Jackson Township with their cats, Blackjack and Roulette. Ashley and Sophie are the cats that live at the hospital.

Kara Vogt has been our Office Manager since 1997. She started working in the veterinary field in 1988 and with Dr. Watters in 1992. Kara, her husband, and her son live in Richville with their 2 dogs and 4 cats. She has done volunteer work in the past with the Stark County Humane Society, the Goodwill Service Dog Program and the Boy Scouts of America

Debbi Schlernitzauer is our Licensed Veterinary Technician and has been here since 2001. She graduated from the Vet Tech program at Cuyahoga Community College in 2005. She grew up on a dairy farm and has a strong animal background. Debbi and her husband live in Navarre and have 2 dogs and a cat.

Becky Webler has been our Veterinary Assistant since 2002. She lives in Perry Township with her two children, two cats and two dogs. She enjoys being outdoors and watching her children play sports.

Kristine Spillios has been our Veterinary Assistant since 2006. She lives in Canton with her son and 2 cats.

Katie Foltz is our newest staff member. She is a licensed Veterinary Technician and has been here since July of 2011. She graduated from the Vet Tech program from Kent State University in 2010. Katie currently lives on a farm and has a passion for raising dairy goats and registered Simmental beef cattle. She also has many other farm animals as well as dogs and cats. She lives in Carroll County and has 10 years of 4-H showing experience.
