MAWD Pathology Group
MAWD Pathology Group has served hospitals and physician practices in Kansas City and surrounding communities since 1968. We provide diagnostic services in the areas of anatomic and clinical pathology, as well as cytology. Our pathologists are fellows of the College of American Pathologists, and are board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Hematology, Immunohematology, and Microbiology. They are available for consultation 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and welcome and appreciate interaction with physicians.
We are committed to patient safety and excellence through:
- Our pursuit of proven, state-of-the-art technology and accurate testing methods
- Our excellent professional staff, who at all times are aware of and concerned for the patient's welfare
- Rapid and accurate reporting of patient diagnoses using secure, electronic methods.
- Integrity, accuracy and timeliness are core values in every area of our practice.
The MAWD Molecular Lab was established in 2010 under the direction of Dr. Samuel Caughron, the region's only board certified Molecular Genetic Pathologist. MML brings the latest advances in diagnostics and personalized medicine to Kansas City and has been designed from the ground up with a vision of the future. MML houses state-of-the-art molecular equipment capable of running the most advanced diagnostics assays. The lab is staffed by experts in molecular techniques, and is continually adding to the menu of tests performed. Currently, the lab performs the following tests:
