At McKinnon we believe in a personalized education. Programs are team-taught by our highly skilled and experienced teachers. Our programs allow you to design your training and find your niche in the field. Our basic certificates in Swedish and Asian Systems prepare you to choose the advanced modalities you would like to pursue.
Flexibility
McKinnon's programs are structured to provide an organized pattern, designed to fully prepare you for this vibrant, growing field. Once you have completed a basic training, in most areas of California, you may begin working and building your career, completing additional programs as your interest, schedule and budget permit.
Holistic Learning
In each class you will observe the teacher demonstrate techniques, practice them on a partner, and receive a massage from a classmate. This process of seeing, doing and experiencing allows you to learn each technique "inside and out." As you work, instructors will give feedback on your technique and body mechanics to avoid injury. The Institute takes pride in creating a learning atmosphere grounded in the firm foundation of technical competence while still inspiring intuition, creativity and individuality.
