Our law firm has a longstanding history of excellence and integrity in litigation matters across Arkansas as well as nationwide. McMath Woods P.A. was founded in 1953 by Sidney S. McMath, Leland F. Leatherman, and Henry Woods. They dedicated their practice to representing those injured or wronged in instances of personal injury, labor and employment, and consumer matters, and later went on to develop a strong national reputation for success.

Before starting his own law firm, Sidney S. McMath completed two terms as the Governor of Arkansas with Woods and Leatherman serving by his side in his administration. As proponents of change and advocates of the civil justice system, the three quickly propelled McMath Woods P.A. to become one of the most prolific and influential personal injury firms in the state.

Our firm's logo, a simple graphic depicting the Arkansas River, references a few points. It references a reminder that McMath Woods P.A. is one of the few plaintiff environmental law firms in Arkansas. It's also a reference to the "river of justice" referenced by Sidney S. McMath in his closing argument in Arkansas's first million dollar verdict.

Once McMath and his team became a practiced and influential legal team in Arkansas, McMath went on to be elected as the President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Woods was appointed as a United States District Court Judge and authored a legal treatise on comparative fault. The earnest exemplary spirits, love the law, and dedication of the firm's three founders live on within the McMath family attorneys and the rest of our team that has taken up the mantle at McMath Woods P.A.
