Our Approach

MHTN Architects believes in architecture based on meaningful concepts and a collaborative vision. Architecture can and should rise higher than the basic levels of providing shelter or enclosing space. Excellent design and planning can convey symbolic meaning representing values, goals, and principles esteemed important by project owners and users. Design concepts are created by weaving the strands of familiar experience with empowering vision, established values with progressive ideals, familiar representation with modern abstraction and memories of the past with a hope for the future. This philosophy generates an architectural tapestry capturing and celebrating the unique characteristics of each client's vision.

Vision Made Real Philosophy. Clients come to MHTN with an idea or a vision of their project. They have goals and desires that they would like to accomplish. Aspirations are always balanced by normal constraints such as cost, size, site restrictions or zoning requirements. Even before a line is drawn, MHTN helps a client through a visioning process in which all parameters of a project are established, priorities are assigned and goals are set. Through a collaborative design process, MHTN sets out to tie the clients' needs and goals to an innovative design solution. In-house cost estimating helps the client track and keep check on budgets and the ever-changing price of materials and construction.

We view our client as our team member, playing a key role in the design process as the vision of the project begins to unfold. MHTN helps the client through critical decisions about concept, project delivery, schedules and bidding. A valuable quality control process is followed in preparation of documents and a watchful eye is maintained throughout the construction process. An idea grows and the client's vision is realized. At MHTN, our experience and expertise combine with innovative design solutions that work for the client, the environment and the people who use the buildings. We discover the client's vision and make it real.

MHTN Architects produces contextually-based master plans, programs, and designs of a variety of design types and sizes locally, regionally, and nationally. We are committed to integration of knowledge across all disciplines, and the early involvement of owners. We believe high level design and fiscal responsibility to be naturally compatible.
