Dr. Samer Kassar is a Board Certified Neurologist, certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kassar also serves as an Associate Member of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Kassar is the lead practitioner at Midwest Neurology Associates and uses his medical expertise to act as a leader, guide and educator for the staff within. His medical knowledge contributes greatly to the breadth of services offered by Midwest Neurology Associates, from routine diagnosis to neurological critical care.

Born in Damascus, Syria, Dr. Kassar studied at the University Of Damascus School Of Medicine. Dr. Kassar graduated with Honors from the University in 2001, finishing at the top of his class.

After graduation, Dr. Kassar started his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Louis University: School of Medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri. Upon completing his residency in 2006, Dr. Kassar began work as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist in Marion, Illinois, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center, and as an Emergency Room Physician at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Dr. Kassar would move on in July 2010, starting a Neurology Residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. Using the experience and knowledge he gained during these years of residency and employment in the world of healthcare, Dr. Kassar opened his own private neurological practice in October 2013, the Midwest Neurology Associates.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Kassar has conducted extensive research and took part in different conferences. For instance, he served as a research assistant in the Department of Preventative Medicine in Damascus, Syria, in 1999 and 2000. Then, in September 2004, Dr. Kassar presented one of his publications to the American College of Physicians: Missouri Chapter. Later that year, he attended the CVT 3037 North American Investigator Meeting in Laguna Beach, California.

Dr. Kassar is also an active part of his community and culture. He served as an interpreter and translator for Arabic to English and vice-versa in a number of international medical conferences. He also volunteers regularly, training physicians in Syria. He works with physicians in training around Damascus, providing medical care to the underprivileged while under the supervision of the National Union of Syrian College Students.

Currently, as Dr. Kassar serves as the lead practitioner at Midwest Neurology Associates, he enjoys playing and watching soccer, as well as traveling all around the world. Continuous learning is Dr. Kassar's personal mission, bringing the latest and greatest techniques from medical practitioners around the world in order to greater serve his patients and associates at Midwest Neurology Associates.
