Mike Ausherman entered the painting contractor business in 1979 as an experienced painter. Being an independent contractor was a family tradition with relatives who were successful plumbers, masons and builders. Like many painters, Mike worked alone, perfecting his skills and building a client base of homeowners. By the mid-1980s, Mike had hired employees, invested in equipment and vehicles, and expanded the business to make it even more professional.
Mike Ausherman Painting, Inc. became a member of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) Mike became a founder and officer of the local Central Pennsylvania PDCA chapter. Then, in 1997, after thorough testing and examination by the PDCA, Mike Auscherman Painting, Inc. became recognized as Central Pennsylvania's only nationally-certified Residential Painting Contractor. This recognition verifies our outstanding ethics, policies, procedures and unmatched customer service.
We're National Award Winners
We're proud to have received the prestigious 2003 Picture It Painted Professional Award from the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) for our work on the Farquhar Park band shell in York, Pennsylvania. Mike Ausherman Painting distinguished itself by performing all the detailed historical finishing work on this turn-of-the-century landmark after it was restored by Olde York Homes.
