Mildew Magic can remove those unsightly stains on your roof and wash your home using our unique fog spray method. We use water dilutible chemicals with out a powerwasher which even on "low" pressure can damage your shingles and is not recommended by the National Association of Shingle Manufacturers. There are two things that generally affect your roof:
- Black algae called Gleocapsa Magma, which is very prevalent in our area of the southeast.
This algae is not only ugly, but can shorten the life of your roof by attracting heat. It feeds on the dirt, pollen and can root itself in the limestone in your shingles and can dislodge the granules that protect and color the roof. It can retain moisture and can cause decay and rot your underlayment.
If your home is for sale a buyer or inspector can mistakenly think it is need of a new roof. We can eliminate that problem for pennies on the dollar compared to a new roof or a lost sale. Mildew or moss from trees or constant moisture and lack of sun. We can kill these funguses, but they may come back earlier than the black stains if the problem still exists. No guarantee.
