Dr. Steven J. Montante is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs a variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, and as a 4th grader at Luzerne Avenue Elementary, he developed a keen interest in science that quickly blossomed into a desire to pursue a career in medicine. From that time forth, he set his sights on achieving his dream.
Shelly is a board-certified nurse practitioner with 10 years of nursing experience with a focus in surgery. However, her career as a nurse practitioner has been shaped by a colorful life of unique experiences. She grew up in the Tidewater area of Virginia, daughter of a registered nurse and a draftsman. Shelly grew up in an environment of helping others, assisting with the charity work of her grandmother, who founded the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Tidewater.

Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, Letybo, and Xeomen
BOTOX® is a popular injectable product that smooths lines and wrinkles caused by muscle activity. These include frown lines, crow's feet, and lipstick lines.
Injectable / Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are injectables for the face and neck that add volume where it has been lost due to aging. They can smooth wrinkles and deep folds, as well as improve sagging jowls and hollowed cheeks or temples. The ones we use most frequently are Juvéderm® and Juvéderm® Voluma, but we also offer Vollure.
Skin Care Treatments

Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser Skin Resurfacing is a very popular treatment that smooths fine lines and wrinkles. Many patients have this procedure after a Face Lift in order to target the remaining superficial lines on the surface of the skin. The laser also increases your skin's elasticity, stimulates natural collagen production, and can reduce the appearance of scars. It is effective on the face, neck, chest, and hands. Dr. Montante is one of few plastic surgeons in the Richmond area who personally uses the RF CO2 technology.
Skin Cancer Treatment
Dr. Montante is experienced with the most advanced treatments for skin cancer. Whatever technique is used, the goal is to remove all of the cancer with the least possible scarring. Mohs surgery is one method that allows the surgeon to remove a small number of skin cells at a time until all of the cancer cells are gone. This leaves as much healthy skin intact as possible.
Laser Scar and Age Spot Removal
Laser technology has made great strides in recent years. It can be used to correct many skin problems, including spider veins on the face or legs, depressed scars (including acne scars), and dark age spots. The result is smoother skin with more even skin tone.
Microblading
Microblading is a permanent makeup technique to enhance sparse eyebrows so that they frame your eyes better. Pigment is added to fill in spaces, reshape, and darken the eyebrows. Some people require more than one treatment for optimal results.
