Established in 2008 by Rachel Beider as a one-treatment room private practice, PRESS Modern Massage was originally known as ‘Massage Williamsburg'. Today PRESS has over 70 staff members and 4 locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Union Square, and our newest Columbus Circle studio make up the current PRESS family. PRESS grew out of the desire to unify all of the award-winning massage studios under one family name. The studios have massaged over 50,000 individual clients with one main goal: to help you feel so much better than you did when you walked in.

The Drive Behind PRESS Rachel grew up with scoliosis and knows firsthand what it's like to struggle with pain and search for relief. After becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, Rachel worked for a surgeon who performed mastectomies for women with breast cancer, assisting recovery with the massage. She later worked for a physical therapy studio on injuries and in preventative medicine. This fueled her desire to create a space for helping and healing through science-backed, clinical orthopedic massage.
