SEA was founded in 1988 by its current President, Steve Sain. Initially, SEA focused its marketing approach as a subcontractor to larger firms. In order to grow in an independent manner, SEA would need to work directly for their client base. Our new approach would take time to develop a market presence and reputation which would be recognized by its universal client base, especially when targeting such powerful clientele as in the U.S. Federal market.

Sain Engineering Associates, Inc. (SEA) is an energy consulting firm with over twenty-five years of energy management experience. SEA provides a growing suite of energy management services worldwide including throughout North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. We help our clients conserve energy, reduce costs and manage their energy resources.

SEA took it one step at-a-time by starting on small projects and building its reputation on high-quality expertise, responsive customer service and, above all, integrity. SEA was fortunate with two significant breakthroughs. First, Steve Sain was fortunate to be selected as a co-instructor of a week-long Federal energy efficiency training program. Due to Federal legislative requirements, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force elected for all of their facility energy personnel, worldwide, to attend Steve's training program. This provided SEA with a global audience to catch a glimpse of SEA's solid technical expertise. Second, SEA was quick to recognize the terrific fit between its expertise, its contacts throughout the energy industry and the evolving Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) concept. SEA virtually attacked this market in its infancy attaining early victories in competition for this business with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force (the same two agencies who actively participated in Steve's training programs). This strategy facilitated SEA to establish a high-quality reputation with two of the largest clients it could ever dream of.
