As Founder and Principal of SHARPVAN, Jeremy Babcock demonstrates tremendous passion and provides true value to his clients when it comes to his in-depth sharpening expertise.

Established in 2006, SHARPVAN was designed to bring professional sharpening services directly to the customer's door.

It all started when a set of knives received as a wedding gift were well past their sharp days. Jeremy set out to find someone to bring them back to life. He went to three different places over the course of a year only to be disappointed by the results. What he found was little professionalism and a whole lot of over-grinding without achieving the desired result. It was then that a light bulb went off and he saw an opportunity to improve on a business that lacked integrity.

Jeremy sought out training from true professionals, whose work not only led to a successful business, but also gained the respect of the professional chefs they serviced. While the learning curve was much longer than anticipated, Jeremy found himself immersed in the challenge of developing his craft and perfecting the equipment he used.

Professional kitchens are busy places, and chefs want their knives back fast, so Jeremy needed to be able to sharpen knives quickly while being very aware of just how little metal needed to be removed to produce the uniformly sharp, long-lasting edge while maintaining a long tool life. Achieving this goal, has allowed him to keep the business of many of Arizona's most-recognized restaurants, resorts, and country clubs. Today, Jeremy's depth of experience and expertise is unrivaled within the areas he serves.

Originally from Indiana, Jeremy is a Veteran who moved to the valley over 25 years ago. He enjoys spending time outdoors camping, sailing, and rock climbing with his wife and two sons. He is a strong believer in leaving nature better than you found it and in supporting small business within the local economies SHARPVAN serves.
