For years, Joe managed a large corporate in-house department for Owens Corning Fiberglas - computer graphics, microfilm, data processing and state-of-the-art imaging equipment - structured as a profit center accepting outside clients (one of the few in the country at the time). He guided the shift from a 19th century film-based industry to 20th century digital technology. When Owens Corning divested in 1986, Joe bought the business.
