Dr. McBee loves dentistry, and knew as a sixth grader that she wanted to become a dentist. She enjoys the relationship that she forms with each patient, and feels so blessed to be involved in an occupation that can improve people's self-esteem by making them feel better about themselves by creating a beautiful smile.
Dr. McBee makes it a priority to stay up-to-date on the latest dental technology. She attends numerous dental courses each year to keep her knowledge of dentistry current. Technology is evident in her office with the CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) machine, Waterlase MD Dental Laser and CAMBRA (Caries Management by Risk Assessment). Dr. McBee's office and staff are very personal, and they make each patient feel at home and at ease. Her office is not a large clinic that operates in large volumes. Patients are not herded in and out like cattle. Each patient is treated like family and has access to Dr. McBee more easily than other dental or medical offices. She takes her job very seriously, but manages to do so in a "fun" way. It is not uncommon for a patient to tell her, "That was the best dental visit I have ever had."
Dr. McBee is involved in organized dentistry. She is a member of the South Plains District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, swimming, exercising, wake boarding, playing basketball, watching sports, and being involved with her boys in their extracurricular activities.
***Dr. McBee recently published her own cookbook titled Spurs and Smiles. It is a collection of approximately 300 recipes from her own kitchen, as well as from family, friends and patients. Most of the recipes she has modified to make them "heart healthier" by substituting low-fat or fat-free ingredients to decrease the fat content of the recipe without sacrificing taste.
