WELCOME

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Vegetarian Nutrition Center of Colorado. The VNCC is a nutrition counseling and education practice specializing in vegetarian nutrition, using vegetarian principles to improve all diets.

Our nutrition counseling falls into two categories:

  • Wellness: We help clients improve their long-term health by adopting a healthier way of eating, customized for their bodies and lifestyles.
  • Health improvement: We help clients address specific health issues through diet and supplements.

Today, many vegetarians and non-vegetarians are experiencing major and minor health problems that are tied to excesses and deficiencies in their everyday diets. Our clients -- including vegetarians, near vegetarians and dedicated non-vegetarians -- benefit from our proven nutritional strategies which are both holistic and firmly rooted in science.

  • Be healthy!
  • Feel great!
  • Enjoy life-long vitality!

with help from the Vegetarian Nutrition Center of Colorado.

ABOUT US

VNCC is the fruit, if you will, of its director, Steve Billig's work in science, sociology and nutrition over 30 years. Combining extensive knowledge of the systems of the human body with a deep understanding of vegetarian nutrition, he has developed an approach that demystifies diet and health issues. Steve's philosophy is that, every day, each of us makes decisions about what we eat and those decisions have consequences for our health. Each of us is free to make what ever decisions we choose. Steve's goal is to help people make informed decisions.

Steve earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology at Bucknell University. He followed that with a Masters degree in Sociology from Tufts University concentrating heavily in research, and a Nutrition Therapy degree from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver.

Steve is a long-time vegan. He is also an avid mountaineer, instructor and hiking guide. Steve has been published in the local press and is a popular speaker on nutritional issues.
