Randy W. Wells-Certified Public Accountant
Mr. Wells moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1973 upon graduation from Newberry College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Mr. Wells was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for five years as a Revenue Agent. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and has ten years experience in public accounting. Before joining John A. McArthur, Jr. to form Wells & Associates, CPA, LLC, Mr. Wells served as treasurer of Pulliam Investment Co., Inc., a multimillion dollar real estate development and management company, employing approximately eighty people.
While at Pulliam, Mr. Wells not only supervised the day to day financing and accounting of the company, but also structured the financing and start up of all new developments. Mr. Wells is a member of the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Wells is active with the Boy Scouts of America and has served in numerous capacities over the past 30 years, currently serving as Associate Advisor of Venture Crew 11 and member of the Executive Board of the Palmetto Council, BSA. He has been awarded the Palmetto Award, the Vigil Honor, the Founder?s Award and the Silver Beaver Award; four of the highest honors awarded by the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Wells, served eight years on the Spartanburg City Planning Commission, serving three years as the commission?s Vice Chairman.
John A. McArthur, Jr.-Accounting Practitioner
Mr. McArthur has lived in Spartanburg, SC since 1965. A 1975 graduate of the University of South Carolina, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. He is licensed by the state of South Carolina as an Accounting Practitioner and has 15 years of experience in public accounting. After graduation he was employed with a local CPA firm for six years leaving to become the Treasurer of Alley Paint Company, Inc. Upon the sale of the company to Duron Paint Company, Inc., he was employed by them and served in various financial positions including credit manager, southern region business manager, internal auditor and financial analyst. He left private industry in 1995 starting an accounting practice and, in September 2002, joined long time friend Mr. Randy Wells to form Wells & Associates, CPA, LLC.
